Practical experience is a vital part of any
child's education and Fieldwork, whether local or further afield, plays an
important part of the National Curriculum and in our teaching in school.
Both infant and junior children make regular field trips as part of their
work.
Year 5 and Year 6 children are given the opportunity to spend five days
at Edale in Derbyshire, studying the local area and comparing it to Friskney.
This trip covers all aspect of the National Curriculum and at Champion
House, a residential establishment run by the Derbyshire Diocese, the
children help to cater for themselves which helps them to develop
inter-personal relationships, discipline and self reliance. Other activities
include rock climbing and orienteering.
We really enjoyed our trip from 23rd to 27th May. Follow the link
